Ankole Small Vase

Ankole Small Vase

A$60.00

Beautifully crafted to emphasis the natural grains this vase is a stand out piece in any setting. Made from Ankole cow horn indigenous to Uganda, this horn used to be a waste material to the cattle industry.

Recognising the horns natural beauty, and its valuable properties of being both durable and malleable when heated, will hopefully ensure the survival of these magnificent creatures which are currently being cross-bred into extinction.

These natural horn tumblers were hand carved on a lathe, and then shaped and moulded at high temperatures to fit perfectly in your hand. They were meticulously sanded, polished, and then sealed with a food-safe lacquer for a smooth and shiny finish.

Due to the considerable size of Ankole horns and their wide range of naturally occurring colors, these tumblers are truly one-of-a-kind; no two are exactly alike.

Each tumbler is individually hand-crafted by an artisan in a fair trade environment in Uganda and would make the perfect gift for the discerning whisky drinker. Imperfections should be expected and simply add to the charm of your handmade good.
